As a fellowship we met together for 9 years, between 2011-2019, trying to 'do' church in a way and form that was similar to that seen in the early church model. Here are some of the recordings from those meetings.
Colossians Pt.15. Chapter 3 verses 18 and 19. What does it mean that wives are to be subject to their husbands? Is this verse relevant in a modern world? Doesn't it make women to be second class partners in the marriage? Also, what does it mean for men to love their wives as Christ loved the church? As men, do we really know what love is or are we acting out of a sense of duty instead?
Colossians Pt.14, chapter 3 verses 15-17. Looking at the commands to let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts and to let the Word of Christ richly dwell within us. How do we achieve peace in our hearts? What is the Word of Christ we are supposed to be investing into our lives and what is it to do all things in the Name of the Lord Jesus?
Colossians Pt.13, chapter 3 verses 12-14. Specifically looking at what it means to be the chosen of God. If God chooses me to be saved, does that mean I have no choice in the matter? Also what about those God doesn't choose. How can it be fair if God chooses some people but not others? Does God actually choose some for life but others for hell-fire damnation? A look at the Sovereignty of God and how He deals with mankind.
Colossians Pt.12. Chapter 3 verses 1-11. Do you know that you're saved and what it means to be born-again? What is it to die to this world and to be raised with Christ? What does it mean that our life is hidden with Christ in God and are we to actively fight against sin in our lives? What if we don't and still say we believe in Jesus?
Colossians Pt.11, chapter 2 verse 18-chapter 3 verse 4. Can we be tricked or cheated out of our reward in heaven or even the reward of getting into heaven? What are the dangers in self abasement, focusing on angels and others dreams and visions? And how can we develop a heavenly perspective?
