As a fellowship we met together for 9 years, between 2011-2019, trying to 'do' church in a way and form that was similar to that seen in the early church model. Here are some of the recordings from those meetings.
Colossians Pt.10, chapter 2: 16-17. What does it mean that the Sabbath and other aspects of the Mosaic Law are shadows, but the substance or body is Christ? Are we as Christians supposed to keep the Sabbath today out of obedience to God? What about where the scripture calls the Sabbath a perpetual covenant that is a sign between God and Israel forever? Doesn't that mean we should still keep it today? And doesn't the scripture talk about keeping the Sabbath in the coming Kingdom of Christ? How does that fit with the New Covenant?
Colossians Pt.9. Chapter 2:8-15. What is circumcision of the heart and how does this relate to being saved? Can you be born again without having gone through this process? Is there any aspect of the Mosaic Law we must keep today? What about tithing or Sabbath Day observance? And how about spiritual warfare. When Jesus disarmed the principalities and powers did he take spiritual weapons away from them or something quite different?
Colossians Pt.8, chapter 2:1-8. How could the apostle Paul see what the church at Colosse was doing when he wasn't actually with them? Also did you know that spiritually speaking you can literally be taken prisoner by viewpoints that you hold that do not allow you to receive the whole of God's counsel found in His Word? What is it to think according to Christ, and how to figure out whether you do that or not.
Colossians Pt.7 chapter 2 verses 1-3. What is the mystery of God, the mystery of the ages? What is the meat of the Word and how can we learn to feed upon it. Do you understand allegory in the Bible? What is Biblical allegory as opposed to false allegory? How can you spot it and why it is important to know of these things and be familiar with them.
Colossians Pt.6. Focusing specifically on Colossians 1 verse 28. What does Paul mean when he says he wants to present every man complete or perfect in Christ, bearing in mind he says in chapter 2 that we ARE complete in Christ already? Are we complete already or do we need to be made complete? Or is it something somewhere inbetween? A detailed look at the new creation, what this is and what impact it should have on your life today.
"Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written down for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come," I Corinthians 10:11
