As a fellowship we met together for 9 years, between 2011-2019, trying to 'do' church in a way and form that was similar to that seen in the early church model. Here are some of the recordings from those meetings.
Colossians 1: 24-29. What does it mean to fill up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions? Did Jesus not do enough when He suffered on the cross? Is there some more suffering we as a church must go through? Also a look at what the Bible calls the mystery of the ages, the revelation of Christ given in these days. What is this mystery? Why is it so important? Tracing the evolution of the concept of Christ or Messiah throughout the Word.
Colossians Part 4. Looking at chapter 1 verses 21 to 23. God will present you before Himself in holiness....IF indeed you continue in the faith. Looking specifically at whether our salvation is dependent or conditional upon something we must do. What being firmly established in the faith is all about and what the scripture means when it talks about faith being upset or denied. Also pretty importantly, what it means to wander away from or to depart from the faith.
Colossians Part 3. Looking at verses 13 to 20 of chapter 1. What about Christians and deliverance? Can a believer be possessed or oppressed by demonic powers? And if Jesus was the firstborn, does that mean He was a created being? Also looking at the Sovereignty of God, universalism and the doctrine of limited atonement.
Colossians Part 2. Looking at verses 6 to 12 of chapter 1, specifically Paul's prayer for the believers at Colossae. How and what did he pray for them? What actually is the will of God for us and how can we know this in all spiritual wisdom and understanding? Spiritual questions and spiritual answers we need to have a grasp of if we are to be spiritual believers today.
Colossians Pt.1. This book contains such depth and profound insights yet is often not fully understood as it should be. Here we look at verses 1 to 6, specifically looking at the hope we have in Christ and of huge importance, what the grace of God actually is compared to how it is often portrayed today's modern church.
"Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written down for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come," I Corinthians 10:11
